Anke Degenhard

Anke Degenhard is a Hamburg based curator, agent, and gallerist whose work often intersects with documentary practice and editorial storytelling. Through Crossover, she develops and tours exhibitions with strong real world narratives, including Martin Schoeller’s Survivors Faces of Life after the Holocaust, and manages print editions and projects with artists active in reportage and portrait driven documentary. Her background in magazines and visual communications informs clear sequencing, captions, and public programmes that serve journalistic context as well as gallery audiences.

Degenhard mentors emerging photographers through reviews, workshops, juries, and talks, aligning documentary and photojournalistic work with the right institutions, publishers, and collectors. She oversees rights, loans, insurance, transport, and installation, and adapts texts and narrative flow for each venue, producing catalogues with publishers such as Steidl, Rizzoli, and Kehrer.
