I am 58 years old male with a Gleason score of 3 + 4 = 7 diagnosed 10 months ago. My PSA at the time of diagnosis was 6.72. I have been operated on November 4 -2024 and am documenting my struggle. When I found out that I've had prostate cancer. I made a decision that I will talk about my experience to increase awareness about prostate health, because it's been my observation that many men suffer in silence.
My father and grandfather suffered and died in silence.
I want to change that narrative. I decided to be as transparent and public as I can be. I want to give hope and support to other men worldwide. Black men have a higher incidence rate and mortality rate of prostate cancer than white men. Despite that, we are still falling short in providing adequate education about screenings and reaching the populations at a higher risk.
