The bull race is an expression of strong desire to win and achieve the dream. It is a bull rice competition at the end of the harvest season in Kerala State of India. This competition is particularly enthusiastic for the people of Malabar.It is better to mention that bulls that run and flee the speed of the horse, spreading water and the soil of the starchy fields and sprinkle them to the faces of visitors who mobilize around the fields of the competition, is the only thing which bring these visitors and large crowds to the fields of the competition.Almost 50 different teams of bulls from different places participate in such competitions. The streets and the field are crowded with such bulls, for example, "pulla,Mailan , kannappan ,arakkan , mokala, panda, karimban, chunangan , and other varieties by colour.These bulls are built, well preserved and specially trained for this bull race competition. Its owners are used to always bathing them well and giving foods supplied with strength and medicines.One of the well-preserved bull owners of the competition explains that they spend approximately 8 billion Indian rupees to maintain these bulls.Organizers of these competitions often choose small square fields to organize the bull race competition.The man stands between his both bull and steer in a plaque attached to the ploughing that tightened both sides of these bull's necks. This man only drives and stitches it with sharp barbed sticks of trees known in Kerala as Kanga, Kasu, Currie and etc, to increase their speed and move towards the target. Some hit hard, some break and bite its tails to move fast.The end, closing ceremony by giving medals and prizes etc, to bulls that showcase their superior speed in this bull race competition. The owners of these bulls also would be given by various prizes, costing five to thirty thousands.Despite these enthusiastic views, some views are pathetic. The photographer reveals in almost tearful voice when his camera touches on a bull flowing tears from its eyes after the bull race competition, that "yes, this is some sad scenery like would be behind all the joy and enthusiasm.
